 | Wednesday, September 5th, 2029: Super Swinger -- Wonnacott Slams 5 Hits It was high-5 day at Yankee Stadium, at least for Danny Wonnacott of the New York (AL) Yankees. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Minnesota Twins. Wonnacott smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 9-8 win. His manager said, "Danny was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." D. Wonnacott hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In this current campaign Wonnacott is hitting at a .266 clip with 25 home runs and 92 RBIs. |
