 | Saturday, September 1st, 2029: AL Selects Rookie Star of the Month A boyish Juan Torres emerged as the latest American League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Minnesota deserved the honor, batting .356 with 10 home runs and 23 runs batted in. Is the month of August a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Torres enjoy the limelight. This season Torres is swinging the bat at a .345 rate with 77 hits in 223 at-bats. To date he has hit 18 home runs, scored 41 runs and driven in 51. |
