The Rangers today announced that they have come to terms with Ike Weisner, a 32-year-old starting pitcher they've been scouting for a while.
Weisner will earn $6,500,000 a year over 4 years and is expected to play a key role with the club.
In career stats, the 32-year-old Weisner has won 95 and lost 84, recording 1138 strikeouts and 627 walks in 1439.2 innings with a 4.09 ERA. Opponents have hit .281 against him. |

Arizona officials were grinning from ear to ear as they introduced their latest blockbuster signing to the media earlier today.
Javier Hinojosa, one of the game's marquee talents, opted for the Diamondbacks after receiving a 4-year, $59,170,000 offer.
His career totals show Hinojosa has a 122-58 won-lost record with a 3.86 ERA. |

Team insiders were tight-lipped prior to today's deal that brought 31-year-old starting pitcher Xavier Noriega to Texas.
Noriega is considered one of the league's A-list players and certainly will enhance any chances the Rangers have to win a playoff spot this year.
Noriega has collected 110 wins and 77 losses over his career with a 4.55 ERA. The 31-year-old hurler also has struck out 1019 batters in 1588.1 innings and allowed 1661 hits. |
