 | National League Names Rookie of Month
Monday, September 1st, 2031: A veritable toddler to the National League, Jake Schmidt just sewed up the Rookie of the Month trophy for August.
Over the past month the 22-year-old right fielder for Florida hit .380 with 41 hits, 8 home runs and 29 RBI. He also logged 12 walks and compiled a .439 on-base percentage.
Hitting .324 to date, Schmidt has 29 home runs and 100 RBIs. He has played in 129 games. |
 | AL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Monday, September 1st, 2031: Kevin Gordon's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Chicago (AL) right fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.
In August he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.
During the month he hit .367 with 6 doubles, 1 triple and 8 home runs. Gordon also scored 20 times and drove in 27 runs.
This year Gordon has hit at a .346 clip with 176 hits, 34 home runs, 111 RBIs and 89 runs scored. |
