by BrewersGM on October 03, 2008, 02:50:06 AMWell the shake up has worked with the Brew Crew taking out the coveted NL Central Pennant and then progressing through to the World Series as NL Champions.
While Brian Dominguez sits sadly on the bench contemplating what might have been, Rafael Guerrera has carried the pitching burden with aplomb. Hitters (except Walk) are all firing including the recently promoted Bauer. The big question is whether the Blue Jays pitchers can contain the awesome Brewers batting lineup.
Brewers fans are excited about the coming week except for the cold trip to Canada that is involved.

by BrewersGM on September 15, 2008, 07:43:10 AMWith Dominguez SP confirmed as missing the rest of the season, the Brewers were expected to make few other changes heading into the home straight. But GM Ewin sprang the surprises today announcing that three players - Cruz SP, Rao 1B and Tuohy OF - have been told that they do not feature in the future plans of the Brewers. In addition, Martinez C has been demoted to AAA and replaced by Rodriguez C.
Promoted players Frisina SP and Brown SP will each take a place in the four man rotation. Uber-prospect Dax Bauer 1B has been promoted notwithstanding a short term injury and Perez 1B also joins the active roster.
"It's a tough division - five teams over .500 - and gonna be tough with our pitching stretched like this, but these young kids now have a chance to show what they can do. With a dose of luck we can still make the playoffs." GM Ewin said. 70 Views | 2 Replies

by Tycobbler on September 01, 2008, 11:28:02 AMMonday, June 1st, 2026: Bryan Injured in Freak Off-Field Accident
Kenneth Bryan, Pittsburgh starting pitcher, will be out of service for 16-17 months. According to club officials he had an unfortunate off-the-field accident and suffered an undisclosed injury while punching a wall during a fight with his wife.
In 11 starts this year Bryan has crafted a 5-5 record and a 3.59 ERA.
That make two incidents this season. The Pirates have a strict code of conduct policy, and management will not sit still on this matter. "There is no place for domestic violence here or anywhere else", GM Dave Schaff said, and from this day forward Mr. Bryan is no longer considered a part of our organization! 64 Views | 1 Reply

by Tycobbler on August 13, 2008, 05:09:48 AM In an announcement today, the league informed Brian Townes of Pittsburgh and Joshua Rivers of San Francisco that they both had been suspended 11 games for fighting.
The league president told them, "This type of aggressive behavior will not be tolerated in this league."
Townes wasn't happy with the length of his suspension. He thought he got the worst deal and told the league commissioner, "In any fight, whoever throws the first punch should get a more severe penalty. If I threw the first punch, I'd expect to get the most punishment. Whoever took the blow should get a lesser punishment."
His manager agreed with him and said something needs to be done about it. "Townes is right. The league needs to look at its policy and make sure the punishment fits the crime."

by BrewersGM on July 22, 2008, 06:42:17 AMAfter an inconspicuous 2025 finishing 3rd in the division (despite improving their record from 93-69 in 2023 to 94-68 in 2024 and 95-68 in 2025) the Brewers are determined to make their mark in the 25th anniversary season.
With no intentions of competing fiercely in free agency, Milwaukee look set to enter the season with a solid rotation of Guerrera, Tracey, Dominguez and Cruz (a combined 68-35 last season). Add in Korando and Paz for the late innings and expect the Brewers to allow fewer than 750 runs in 2026.
The lineup boasts one of the more murderous middle orders going around with Hidetora, Escudero and Bautista ... 34, 42 and 55 HRs respectively. Can the Brewers score 100 runs? Only the World Champs San Francisco managed that in the NL last season, but that's the challenge that has been set by GM Ewin.
Expect the Brewers to push the 100 win mark ... that's the word coming from the confident front office in Milwaukee despite competing in the strongest division in baseball.
Bring on Opening Day!
